The Los Angeles County Elder Abuse Forensic Center has been in operation for 11 years providing interagency collaboration to help resolve complex cases of alleged elder abuse in LA County. Members include representatives from Adult Protective Services, Keck School of Medicine, USC Davis School of Gerontology, Los Angeles County District Attorney, Los Angeles County Office of the Public Guardian, Genesis Program (LA County Dept of Mental Health), the Ombudsman Office, and a number of law enforcement agencies.

Through the Adding a Service Advocate to the Forensic Center project, the Forensic Center model is being augmented with a case management/advocacy position. An evaluation is being performed, to gauge the impacts of this role and the Forensic Center intervention on the lives of clients served.
