Elaine Chen, MS began working with subject matter experts to plan, develop and implement educational programs for elder abuse detection, intervention and prevention in 2006.  She studied gerontology at California State University, Long Beach while managing projects for the Center of Excellence on Elder Abuse and Neglect and the National Center on Elder Abuse at UC Irvine.  Her bachelor’s is in Nutrition and she helped to launch a Culinary Medicine training program and additional evidence-based Integrative Medicine programs for medical learners at University of California, Irvine.

Elaine appreciates getting to work with NCEA’s team at USC, bringing a mix of backgrounds to pursue a shared mission to improve the national response to elder abuse, neglect and exploitation by gathering, housing disseminating, and stimulating innovative, validated methods of practice, education, research, and policy.
