The California Elder Justice Coalition in collaboration with researchers at USC and national guardianship experts are conducting a study designed to assess and protect the rights of people under probate conservatorships in California. Conducted under the auspices of the Judicial Council of California, the research team will collect conservatorship data from approximately 2000 conservatorship cases from 5-7 California courts, review and analyze the data, lead focus groups, and conduct an environmental scan of best conservatorship practices within and beyond California. Outcomes will be coalesced in a final report to the California legislature.
