The Finance, Cognition, and Health in Elders Study (FINCHES) aims to identify factors associated with financial exploitation and well-being among cognitively-intact older adults.
Participant Eligibility
- Age 50 years or older
- Fluent in English
- No history of mental impairment
- No major medical problems with brain or emotional functioning

How long is the study?
FINCHES is a one-visit, approximately five-hour, non-medication research study.
​What is involved in testing?
The study includes the following:
- Behavioral Data Collection: Pencil-paper and computerized measures examining thinking abilities, emotions, and health
- Neuroimaging Session: Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan
​Do I need to prepare anything prior to participating?
There are no materials or preparation required for participating in the study.

​Where is the study located?
The study will take place at two locations. The behavioral data collection session will take place at the Keck School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine offices located at 1000 South Fremont Ave., Alhambra, CA 91803. The neuroimaging session will take place approximately 4.6 miles away at the USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute located at 2025 Zonal Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90033. Transportation to and from the study sites can be provided; otherwise, validated parking is available.
