Health Resources and Services Administration HRSA LogoThe growing population of older adults coupled with a shortage of a well-trained health care workforce for this population’s needs, requires innovative models for delivering care and plans to improve training to create a geriatric competent primary care workforce. USC-LAC Training a Workforce in Interprofessional Geriatrics (USC-LAC TWIG) is developing a comprehensive interprofessional geriatric primary care based assessment and training program with an emphasis on interprofessional training and team-based care. The focus will be on improving recognition and care for patients who have cognitive impairment or have a dementia diagnosis, and who, in addition have significant medical co-morbidities.

This project is funded thanks to a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
