Alexis Coulourides Kogan, PhD

kogan_alexisAlexis Coulourides Kogan, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral research associate at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, in the department of Family Medicine and Geriatrics under the supervision of her faculty advisor and department chair, Dr. Laura Mosqueda. Alexis is a mixed-methods health systems researcher with a focus on person-centered translational aging research, specifically in the areas care transitions for older adults and models of care for the seriously ill (palliative care and hospice). She also lends mixed-methods analytical strategies and research support to several elder abuse projects involving healthcare providers, individuals with dementia, and caregivers—including the AIM study and the Injury Documentation Tool—related to detection and documentation of potential elder mistreatment. Alexis earned a BS from Tulane University in exercise and sports sciences, and a MS and Ph.D. in gerontology from USC in the Davis School of Gerontology.
